Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 19, 2026
Timehaven is designed with your privacy in mind. Your data stays on your device. We don't collect, store, or sell your personal information.
What Data Timehaven Uses
Timehaven tracks the following information to provide its core features:
- Focus session data — session duration, completion status, and timestamps
- Daily records — total focus minutes and session counts per day
- Aggregate Screen Time data (optional) — if you grant permission, Timehaven receives threshold events from iOS when your total daily screen time crosses configurable milestones (e.g., 80% and 100% of your daily goal). Timehaven never receives individual app names, per-app usage breakdowns, or browsing activity.
- Creature and garden state — your companion's mood, health, and garden growth progress
- App preferences — your creature's name, default session duration, and settings
All of this data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and App Group shared storage. It never leaves your phone.
What We Don't Collect
Timehaven does not collect, transmit, or store:
- Your name, email address, or account information (there are no accounts)
- Your location or contacts
- Your browsing history or app usage outside of Timehaven
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Analytics or usage telemetry
Screen Time Data
Timehaven uses Apple's Family Controls and DeviceActivity frameworks to optionally measure your daily phone use. This feature is strictly opt-in — it is only active after you explicitly grant Screen Time access through iOS.
How it works:
- Timehaven registers a daily monitoring schedule (midnight to midnight) with iOS, along with usage thresholds tied to your daily goal.
- When your total device screen time crosses a threshold (e.g., 80% or 100% of your goal), iOS sends a callback to a Timehaven extension running on your device.
- The extension writes only aggregate totals (minutes used, pickup count) to Timehaven's private on-device storage. The main Timehaven app reads these totals to adjust your creature's mood and garden state.
- Individual app names, websites visited, and per-app usage breakdowns are never accessed, transmitted, or stored. Timehaven does not request the "App and Website Usage" entitlement.
You can revoke Screen Time access at any time through iOS Settings > Screen Time. Revocation stops all monitoring immediately. Timehaven's focus timer continues to work even if Screen Time access is denied or revoked.
No Screen Time data ever leaves your device. There are no servers, analytics pipelines, or cloud backups involved.
Subscriptions
If you subscribe to Timehaven Premium, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation that you have an active subscription, but we do not receive your payment details, Apple ID, or billing information. See Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles purchases.
Third-Party Services
Timehaven does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The only third-party service involved is Apple's StoreKit for subscription management.
Children's Privacy
Timehaven is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since no personal data is collected from any user, there is no children's data at risk.
Data Retention
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. Deleting the app removes all Timehaven data from your device. There is nothing stored on external servers to delete.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version on this page with a new effective date. Significant changes will be communicated through the app.
